Killay Post Office - A view showing the old 1883 and the new 1898

The original Post Office 1883 - 1898 is the white gable ended cottage center, known as 536 Gower Road Killay originally.
owned by David Rees, his grand daughter Mary Ann Isaac, took over the Post Office business.
The new Post Office 1898 -1956, was also a Regional Sorting Office, built by Sir R.A.Morris for Mary Ann Isaac
upon her marriage in 1897 to John Richards, is shown on the right behind the monkey puzzle tree with the car parked
in front of the shop dooway. The old cottage became the family of home of David Rees' grandchildren Edith Robina Isaac
and later David Isaac, who lived until he was 107. Mary Ann Richards (nee Isaac) was Sub - Post Mistress from 1897 -1953
On the horizon top left, can be seen the roof and belltower of St Hilary Church. David Richards 1841-1907 became
a Deacon of Siloam Chapel, but his son John
Richards and his family 1897 -1956 converted from Baptists to become members
of the Church of England in Wales and
buried at St.Hilary.
