There are no entries in the established church records for
Rachel Jones until her marriage in 1835.


Rachel states in the 1851 census that she was 36 years old and born in Llanpumpsaint. The witnesses at her wedding David Jones of Rhosddu Penrhiw & Jonah Jones of Rhydargaeau. Later Census and Poll records show they are both masons and a Mary Jones at Rhosddu is old enough to be Rachel's mother..

1815? Rachel Jones born in Llanpumpsaint Carmarthenshire.

The law required non-conformists to marry in the established church. The Registers for the Parish Church of Llanegwad show:-.
09/10/1835 Rachel Jones, spinster, abode Penllwynau marries Henry Richards, abode Mwnachdy.

The 1841 Census Blaencwmbach records their daughter Sarah Richards 5 years old. Her baptism is not in the Llanegwad church records. In the 1851 Census she is now a servant aged 15, living with Jacob Powell a shoemaker and his family at Cwm y Nant in the parish of Llangathan.

29/08/1841 David Richards baptised son of Henry & Rachel Richards of Blaencwmbach.

01/08/1864 David Richards marries Sarah Lloyd,abode Pantygog Llanegwad, who
states in the1891 census that she was born in Llandysul Cardiganshire abt.1844.


Rachel becomes the treasurer of Sittim Chapel Felingwm Isaf,
records at Sittim Chapel Felingwm Isaf Carmarthenshire state that Henry was a Trustee and Rachel was a treasurer. ( see "Hanes Sittim Felingwm Llanegwad" by W.M Evans 1932).
She died aged 66 in 1874
